Kathleen McLernon serves as a Principal at LMI, focused on National Security Program performance. LMI provides deep expertise in advanced analytics, digital services, logistics, and management advisory services to government stakeholders, including federal civilian agencies and military commands.
She recently retired from Northrop Grumman as the Mission Assurance Director for the System Modernization and Services Division of Northrop Grumman’s Technology Services Sector, a recognized leader in integrated logistics; sustainment, modernization; defenses, health, civil and government services; and training solutions.
In this role, Ms. McLernon ensured that Quality Management System requirements were implemented and maintained through the disciplined application of systems assurance and quality, supplier and program assurance principles to help achieve 100% mission success.
Earlier, Ms. McLernon was Mission Assurance Director for the Intelligence Systems Division, where she was responsible for implementing an effective Lean Six Sigma program; teaching, leading and coaching teams to improve their program performance.
During her 27 years with Northrop Grumman, Ms. McLernon held increasingly responsible positions in program and functional management, systems engineering, integration and test, process improvement, and commercial information security, in support of the Intelligence Community agencies, commercial health care, and state governments. Before joining Northrop Grumman, Ms. McLernon was a Systems Engineer at Martin Marietta.
Ms. McLernon holds a BA in both International Relations and French from George Mason University and a MS in Systems Management from the University of Southern California. She is a certified Program Management Professional (PMP) and Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and Instructor. She volunteers with the Smithsonian Institute’s Udvar Hazy Air and Space museum’s STEM education for young children, and is the human half of a therapy dog team, serving in Animal Assisted Care with Pet Partners and Fairfax INOVA Hospital.
