When talking about Quality 4.0 there is a lot of focus on the impact of technological changes in general and digitization in particular on the future of the quality profession and the quality professional. Generally the underlying assumption is that the quality functions that exist today – quality manager, quality engineer, etc – will also be the ones that exist tomorrow. In this Q-talk we challenge this assumption and we will explore how the future of quality could be one without quality functions. Scary? Maybe, but as a quality professional you really do not need to worry: function follows knowledge.
