Live Case Study
Our project is a typical Six Sigma improvement project in manufacturing with an applied DMAIC process. This project shows a rigorous logical process driven by data and statistics. The project’s goal was to improve the machining quality of the ball nut, which is a key component of electric power steering. After improvement, the defect rate of ball nuts was reduced by about 15000 ppm, with a direct financial benefit of over $180,000 per year. The project solution alsocan be applied for other customers’ products and other plants in the Nexteer enterprise, including other three similar products that have already successfully applied this solution.
