What happens when a company wants to diversify into a new industry or industry segment? Would there be any resistance to contend with? It may be difficult to imagine the reasons for resisting changes, but understanding the fuel for resistance can prompt you to create preemptive countermeasures that will push adherence through the ranks and ease the implementation of changes.
In this session, the tools of lean and Six Sigma are applied to manage the change effort and its accompanying resistance in the same way the tools are employed to manage continuous improvement projects. For maximum effectiveness, a set of interpersonal skills will be discussed, so that change resistance is met with emotional intelligence. Tools featured include DMAIC, standard work, gemba, Hoshin Kanri, and Prosci’s ADKAR model. Participants will leave the session with a clearer understanding of the factors that cause change resistance, and examples of quality tools that can overcome it.
