The magnificent seven remains a fundamental part of a quality professional’s toolkit. Quality professionals should supplement their toolkit with data analytics techniques to provide greater insights and value to their customers. Workshop attendees who bring their own laptops will gain hands-on experience applying data analytics concepts to quality problems. Topics covered in this workshop include: introduction to the cross- industry standard process for data mining (CRISP-DM)—the top methodology used for data analysis, data mining, or data science projects; data visualization—techniques for visualizing, finding, and telling the story in the data; machine learning—unsupervised and supervised machine learning techniques for finding patterns in the data; interpreting results—considerations for deciding whether the results make sense; and communicating results—how to communicate the results and recommendations to the client. The workshop is interactive and provides attendees with experience applying data analytics principles. Participants should bring Windows laptops to follow along with the workshop examples.
