Shane J. Schvaneveldt, Ph.D., is an experienced educator, researcher, and consultant in quality management and operations excellence. He has served on the Board of Examiners for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, and currently is Chair-Elect for the ASQ Golden Spike Section (Northern Utah). He is a co-recipient of the Nikkei Quality Management Literature Prize awarded by Japan’s Deming Prize Committee, as well as a Fulbright Scholar Award for research on environmental sustainability initiatives in Japanese industry, and the Instructional Innovation Award from the Decision Sciences Institute. As a Presidential Distinguished Professor of Supply Chain Management at Weber State University (USA), he regularly teaches courses and conducts research on quality management and operations/supply chain management, as well as provides training and consultation to business organizations. He is proud of mentoring nearly one hundred Weber State University undergraduate and MBA students to earning ASQ certifications in the past several years. He holds a Ph.D. degree from Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan, and has authored over 100 publications and conference presentations.
