The 2017 revision of ISO/IEC 17025 Standard: General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories requires managing risk. Risk management through measurement uncertainty estimation has always been a requirement in the ISO/IEC 17025 standard. The consumers of calibration services (ISO 9001, ISO 13485, AS9100, and IATF 16949 registered organizations) will need to know how to specify their calibration requirements to the supplier. This session will provide insight for both the consumers and suppliers of calibration services to better understand each other’s requirements and to reduce the probability of false accept and false reject when it comes to their equipment calibration requirements.
