Keiji Uesugi, CA PLA, is an expert of Japanese gardens in North America. He studied at Kyushu University in Fukuoka, Japan, received his MLA at Cal Poly Pomona, and worked over 10 years with his father, Dr. Takeo Uesugi, as well as experts Dr. Makoto Nakamura (Kyoto University) and Kinkaku-ji master gardener Tokushiro Tamane.
His professional work includes the Huntington Library Japanese Garden (Pasadena, CA), Japanese Friendship Garden (San Diego, CA), and the Pittsburgh Botanic Garden (PA). He worked six years at EDAW (AECOM), PREC (in Japan), and teaches at Cal Poly Pomona in the Department of Landscape Architecture.
