This workshop addresses challenges and solutions for landscape teams when starting to use BIM. Lessons from project cases are shared, with broad research of how numerous landscape firms are scaling up BIM use. Participants will get hands-on practice on modeling a sample landscape project and exploring workflow among different software.

Attendees will be required to bring a laptop with Revit and AutoCAD downloaded. Photoshop, Rhino, and SketchUp are optional.

Learning Objectives:

• Understand all prerequisites and key steps to get started using BIM for landscape architects.
• Learn the benefits of digital collaboration between designers and offices that use a centralized BIM digital workflow.
• Explore different BIM methods varying from small landscape studios to large multi-disciplinary firms.
• Hands-on practice to address coordination, graphic and documentation production tasks using Revit with the aid of other design software, e.g. AutoCAD and Adobe Suites.
• Practice hands on to model a sample landscape BIM project.
• Understand the big-picture shifts towards BIM from interviews with several dozen landscape firms at various stages of BIM adoption.
