Magdalena Hubmann is a PhD candidate in the Lipid Chemistry Group at the University of Alberta, Canada. Her research focuses on the development of radiation-curable coatings derived from oilseed lipids reinforced with cellulose nanocrystals, which meet the twin-demand for good performance and improved sustainability.
In collaboration with the Government of Alberta’s Heritage Division, she is applying her experience in polymer chemistry to assist in comparative finish investigations at the Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village, Alberta. Studying historic building materials is a great opportunity to learn from the past to develop better materials for the future.
