Please join APT in our celebration with the CLEO Institute, the University of Miami, the City of Miami, La Perle de Miami, and the residents of Ti Ayiti (Little Haiti) to highlight the collaborative efforts to keep the historic Little Haiti neighborhood intact. This goal of this initiative was to highlight the cross roads of preservation, sustainability and resiliency and empower local community members through workshops and educational engagements. APT members lead teams of students and community members in the assessment of historic residential properties to identify significant historic features and inherent sustainable design elements, identification of vulnerabilities and threats, and development of cost effective upgrades for enhanced performance and increased resilience. Building upon this effort, these residences are eligible for grants from the City of Miami for resilience upgrades. Little Haiti is the pilot project for APT’s Community Engagement initiative, designed to deepen the relationship between APT and local community where we hold our annual conference.
