Climatic patterns in urban and tropical environments can cause vast ranges in material degradation of reinforced concrete structures. Increases in unusual weather activity, storm surges and increases in temperatures are impacting the rates of corrosion material kinetics. This presentation will review deterioration modeling that is anticipated to occur in relation to reinforced concrete material degradation and will discuss options for preventative repair to existing and current landmark structures. Case studies and hypothetical models will be used to illustrate increased material degradation activity.
