APICES was planned by the AAE’s Resident and New Practitioner Committee. They worked closely with staff to handle the majority of planning and tasks associated with the event. Because of the timing of the meeting, the 2018 – 2019 and 2019 – 2020 committees both worked on this program. Meet the team of dedicated members from all over the country.
Helen Yang, D.M.D., Chair
Dr. Yang graduated from Harvard School of Dental Medicine in 2016. In dental school, she was very active in organized dentistry and student advocacy, serving as ASDA District 1 Trustee and co-founding her school's ADEA chapter. Prior to residency, she worked in private practice in Singapore, where she used the opportunity to improve her Mandarin and explore Southeast Asia. Currently a resident at University of Illinois at Chicago, she is excited to begin her term on the Resident and New Practitioner Committee.
Bradley H. Gettleman, D.D.S., M.S., Board Liaison
Dr. Gettleman earned his dental degree from the University of Missouri in Kansas City. He finished his master's degree and endodontic residency at the University of Minnesota. He has published numerous articles on endodontic therapy. In addition to the AAE, he is a member of the Westside Dental Study Club (past president) and American Dental Association. He has just completed tenure as chairman of the AAE’s Professional Standards Peer Review and Ethics Committee, Arizona Endodontic Association (past president), and the Arizona State Dental Association. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics and has been in private practice since 1989.
Eshwar Arasu, D.M.D.
Dr. Arasu graduated in 2017 from the endodontic residency program at the Virginia Commonwealth University. He is a past chair of the Resident and New Practitioner Committee (2018-2019). He currently practices in Nashville, Tenn., where he and his fiancée plan to tie the knot next year.
Lauren E. Jensen, D.D.S.
Dr. Jensen, from Iowa City, Iowa, attended college at Harvard University (Class of 2008) and dental school at The University of Iowa (Class of 2014). She received her Certificate in Endodontics and master’s in oral science from the University of Iowa in 2016 and 2017, respectively. She has been a full-time faculty in the Endodontic Department at The University of Iowa since 2017. In 2018, Dr. Jensen became a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics, and she received her pin at the AAE annual session in Montréal, Canada, in April 2019. Prior to serving on the Resident and New Practitioner Committee, she served on the AAE’s Educational Affairs Committee. Her significant other, Dr. Christopher C. Friedl, is also a Board-certified endodontist who is in private practice in Iowa.
Alex C. Moore, D.M.D.
Dr. Moore is from Rockford, Ill., and was brought to Chicago for his undergraduate studies at DePaul University. He then went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry and his Endodontic Certificate at Marquette University School of Dentistry. He is currently practicing in the Chicago suburbs. In his free time he enjoys playing tennis and showing off interesting cases on Instagram @dr.moorendo.
Seyed Moein Sadrkhani, D.D.S.
Dr. Sadrkhani was born and raised in Rezayieh, Iran, and graduated dental school from University of Tabriz, Iran, in 2013. He completed an endodontics Fellowship at UCLA from 2015-2017. He will graduate from his UCLA residency in July 2020. He has been proudly serving on the Resident and New Practitioner Committee since 2018.
Zahabiyah Tsiamwala, D.D.S.
Dr. Tsiamwala is a current rising PGY2 resident at Rutgers University. She is a New York native who enjoyed the different cuisines and exploring the Big Apple during dental school at NYU. She set out to become involved as an AAE resident member in order to represent current needs of new endodontics graduates, network with like-minded colleagues, and enjoy different cities while learning new things.
