Mary works for the International Eye Institute coordinating medical and surgical mission trips in under privileged settings, primarily in Latin America, where she works to advocate for infection prevention education in challenging settings. She has worked for many years in out-patient care settings managing a surgery center, diagnostic imaging, cardiac stress testing and ophthalmology. She has been a member of her local APIC Chapter serving in the past on the board and assisting with conference planning. She has presented at local, regional and national APIC conferences, as well as Ambulatory Surgery Center organization conferences. She currently is honored to serve on the APIC Annual Conference Committee.
As a surveyor working in Ambulatory Care since 2007, she is privileged to perform accreditation surveys for many settings including Ambulatory Surgery, Office Based surgery, multi-specialty centers, Medicare deemed status.. She has worked with AAAHC staff to develop infection prevention training modules for surveyors.
