Heather Gilmartin, PhD, NP, CIC, FAPIC is an investigator and nurse scientist with the Denver/Seattle Center of Innovation for Veteran-Centered and Value Driven Care, VA Eastern Colorado Healthcare System, an assistant professor at the University of Colorado, School of Public Health, and adjunct faculty at the University of Colorado, School of Nursing. Her research focuses on understanding and optimizing the culture of healthcare to enhance patient safety. facilitate organizational learning, and transitions of care. Dr. Gilmartin has published 30 original research articles in peer-reviewed journals and has presented her work at state and national meetings. She currently serves as the infographic section co-editor for the American Journal of Infection Control.
