Kathleen (Kate) Gase is the Director of Patient Safety & Quality at Barnes-Jewish St. Peters and Progress West Hospitals in the St. Louis, MO area. She is currently on APIC's Board of Directors and has previously served on the Research and Annual Conference Committees.
Kate earned her undergraduate degree and MBA at Washington University in St. Louis and her MPH at Hunter College. She has previous work experience at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH), and BJC HealthCare.
Kate was designated as a Fellow of APIC in 2016 and has received several awards including APIC Chapter 13 IP Champion, NYSDOH Commissioner’s Recognition Award, APIC Blue Ribbon Abstract, APIC New Investigator Award and the 2017 SHEA Advanced Practice Infection Preventionist Award. Kate’s research interests include understanding how federal regulations influence and effect healthcare quality.
