Christopher Blank is an Infection Prevention Consultant for Occupational Health and Emergency Preparedness at BJC HealthCare in St. Louis, MO. He received his master’s degree in public health from Saint Louis University, where his concentration was biosecurity and disaster preparedness and epidemiology. At BJC, he is responsible for strengthening collaboration among Occupational Health, Emergency Preparedness and Infection Prevention by promoting communication, joint policy development and coordination among the departments. Blank assists with developing recommendations for managing communicable disease exposures, the administration of seasonal influenza vaccination campaigns and the creation of emergency exercises and drills. He has facilitated policy development in several areas affecting Infection Prevention, Occupational Health and Emergency Preparedness, including procedures for distributing mass prophylaxis and managing high-consequence pathogens such as Ebola. Blank also has participated in multiple real-world emergency responses with infection prevention and occupational health challenges.
