Phenelle Segal, RN, CIC, FAPIC is the founder and president of Infection Control Consulting Services. A graduate of nursing in South Africa, she emigrated to the USA in 1982 and began her infection control career in 1983. Phenelle founded her consulting company in 2005 and built a team that provides nationwide services to facilities including hospitals, the dental community, ambulatory surgery centers and other outpatient settings. The team assists facilities with their accreditation and state surveys. Phenelle's background in dental practices includes assisting dentists with regaining their licensure after best practice breaches have resulted in suspension. In addition to onsite visits and developing written plans, she provides educational programs in various formats to a variety of settings. Phenelle has presented at previous National APIC conferences and recently served as educational chairperson for the local APIC chapter. Phenelle is also a member of the Association of periOperative Nurses (AORN).
