Change management is defined by John Kotter, PhD, as an eight-step process of effective change. Leading change cannot be outsourced but must be done from within the organization to ensure engagement and collaboration of all team members. Transformational change requires leadership in order to bring people on the change journey. In the past three years, our hospital has gone through changes in perioperative services with an extensive expansion from eight to 15 theatres, including two hybrid theatres. This presentation is not about the growth of the service but about the growth of our teams.
