Rita Hui, PharmD, MS is an outcomes research pharmacist for Kaiser Permanente National Drug Information Services and Pharmacy Outcomes Research Group. Her experience as a researcher spans over 20 years and focuses on comparative effectiveness of pharmaceuticals using real world data, pharmacoepidemiology, pharmacovigilance, and evaluation of innovative pharmacy services.
Dr. Hui earned her Doctor of Pharmacy from University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and completed a general practice residency at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco, California. Additionally, Dr. Hui earned a Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Economics and Policy from University of Southern California while completing her Pharmacoeconomics fellowship. She currently also holds a position at UCSF as Assistant Clinical Professor and serves as a board member of two committees for Pharmacy Quality Alliance.
Dr. Hui has collaborated actively with researchers in several disciplines. Her research has been published in over 30 peer reviewed articles and featured in reputable journals, including The American Journal of Managed Care and Specialty Pharmacy, Pharmacotherapy, Annals of Pharmacotherapy, American Journal of Managed Care, Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Journal of the American Geriatrics Society, Journal of Neuro-Oncology, Bone, Medical Care, Health Affairs, The New England Journal of Medicine, The Journal of American Medical Association, and The Lancet. Dr. Hui’s research papers have earned her numerous awards and national recognition.
