Sara Carruth is the Manager of Health Economics and Outcomes at MedImpact Healthcare Systems, Inc. Sara leads the development of health economic models including the budget impact modeling for pipeline agents. She also oversees the development and clinical operations of various clinical programs including the PBMI award-winning High-Cost Generic clinical program. Her other responsibilities include the design of analytic protocols, the critical evaluation of data and final report preparation and manuscripts for publication. Her research has been published in various clinical and managed care journals.
Sara has over a decade of pharmacoeconomics and health outcomes research experience within the pharmacy benefits management industry. She serves on the editorial board for JMCP and is also active in PQA. She has a volunteer clinical faculty appointment at University of California, San Diego Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences and will be teaching Applied Pharmacoeconomics this Spring. Sara received her doctorate of pharmacy at the University of California, San Diego. She completed a post-graduate managed care pharmacy residency at Prescription Solutions, now OptumRx.
