Michael J. Cawley, Pharm.D., RRT, CPFT, FCCM, is Professor of Clinical Pharmacy at the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy, University of the Sciences, Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Cawley graduated from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science receiving both his Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Pharmacy degree’s respectively. He completed a post-doctorate residency in Surgical Critical Care Pharmacotherapy at the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science in conjunction with the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA
Dr. Cawley has greater than 25 years of experience practicing in the areas of medical, surgical, trauma, and burn intensive care as both a critical care clinical pharmacist and registered respiratory therapist. Dr. Cawley is recognized for his leadership within the pharmacy and critical care profession including an active member of American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) and Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM) including elected Fellow in the American College of Critical Care Medicine. He is a well-published author, medical and legal consultant, pharmaceutical advisory board member and editorial reviewer for a number of medical journals including Critical Care Medicine, Pharmacotherapy, European Respiratory Journal, Journal of Asthma, Clinical Therapeutics, and past editorial board member of Annals of Pharmacotherapy (Critical Care Section). In addition, he is recognized as an outstanding educator awarded both the Lindback Award for Distinguished Teaching and the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy Dean’s Award for Excellence in Teaching. He has received greater than 200 invitations as a presenter for national/international conferences and professional meetings.
