Ilene Harris (Zuckerman), PharmD, PhD, is Vice President and Chief Research Officer at IMPAQ International, LLC (www.impaqint.com). Dr. Harris leads IMPAQ’s Pharmaceutical Health Services Research practice area and serves as project director and senior technical advisor on grants and contracts funded by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and other government, state and private organizations. She serves as Project Director for Part D Enhanced Medication Therapy Management Technical Implementation Support, a 7-year contract with CMS to support a new model for providing medication therapy management services to Part D Medicare beneficiaries.. Prior to joining IMPAQ in 2014, Dr. Harris was department chair of the Pharmaceutical Health Services Research Department in the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy, where she continues to serve as Professor Emeritus. She has more than 30 years of pharmacoepidemiology research experience in assessment of drug therapy appropriateness, management and analysis of large databases for drug utilization review and program evaluation, and development of performance and outcomes measures using administrative claims. She received her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degrees from the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy, and PhD in Epidemiology from the University of Maryland Graduate School. Dr. Harris is licensed to practice pharmacy in Maryland, and has more than 100 publications in peer-reviewed journals.
