In collaboration with state and community partners, the MCH Safe Sleep Cribs Project provided infant sleep sacks, portable cribs, and culturally specific education to promote safe sleep practices in Oklahoma. Study participants included women delivering at a university teaching hospital, community baby shower attendees, patients at a Indian Health Clinic, and members of home visitation programs throughout the state. Surveys were completed to document sleep behaviors and sleep environment of infants. Study findings indicate that provision of safe sleep resources can improve sleep-related behaviors. Expansion of the MCH Safe Sleep cribs Project is underway.
