Skills Building Session
Social return on investment (SROI) is an essential financial tool that incorporates benefits that may not have immediate monetary value but do have substantial and long term value to society. SROI is becoming more widely used in evaluating publicly funded programs and has meaningful application to MCH planning and implementation efforts. The Colorado MCH program recently completed an SROI analysis to account for and quantify the social benefits of Colorado’s Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative. Using Colorado’s experience as a case study, this workshop will provide an overview of the readiness factors to consider before completing an SROI analysis; the principles of SROI; and the six-step SROI analysis process.
