Mr. Planey is currently the Branch Chief for Family Health at the Arkansas Department of Health. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, a Master of Sciences degree in Rehabilitative Counseling, a Master of Arts degree in Human Resource Development, and a Master of Arts degree in Health Services Management and has previous career experience in rehabilitative services.
Mr. Planey serves as the lead for the Family Health Branch, responsible for the management of statewide programs such as the Maternity, Reproductive Health, Newborn Screening, and Universal Infant Hearing Screening, which are conducted by this Branch. In addition, he serves as the Director for the Title V, Maternal and Child Health Block Grant, working closely with our partners at the Department of Human Services to support services for children with special health care needs. Mr. Planey is also the Project Director for the Maternal, Infant and Early Childhood Home Visiting Grant.
Mr. Planey’s work includes the partnership with the Arkansas Children’s Hospital Injury Prevention Center to provide the Arkansas Infant and Child Death Program, which develops regional infant death review panels to better understand the causes of infant and child deaths in our state. Formerly, he was the Title X Family Planning Director for the Arkansas Department of Health.
