Katie Volk, MA is a child development specialist with particular focus on infancy, early childhood, and families living in poverty. She has worked with hundreds of communities nationwide to provide training and technical assistance on trauma-informed care, self-care, and organizational development. Katie understands the multidimensional needs of children and families, the paraprofessionals who serve them, and the systems and contexts that surround them. She is currently a Principal Investigator on an NICHD-funded project to develop an ecological, neurodevelopmental, psychometrically-validated screening tool for use with young children. She joined the Center for Social Innovation (C4) in 2011 and prior to that, spent seven years working with The National Center on Family Homelessness. She has served as adjunct faculty at Boston College and Lesley University.
