Ms. Bassewitz serves as the Manager of the Bright Futures National Center in the Division of Developmental Pediatrics and Preventive Services at the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and manages the activities of the Bright Futures Initiative. As the Manager of the Bright Futures Training Intervention Project, she worked with practices across the country, using QI approaches, to test a systems change package addressing the delivery of preventive services. As the Manager for the Healthy Tomorrows program at the AAP, Ms. Bassewitz provided individualized TA to community-based programs working to increase the access and quality of care to children and their families, initiated and organized the evaluation of the HTPCP program, and developed tools and materials to assist the programs in reaching their goals.
She is a recipient of the MCHB, HRSA, Leadership Award. She received her Masters of Art degree in policy analysis and program evaluation and a certificate in health administration and policy studies from the School of Social Service Administration at the University of Chicago. Her undergraduate work was completed at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
