Rachel Hutson, MSN, RN, CPNP, is the Director of the Children, Youth and Families Branch at the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) and the MCH Director for the state’s Title V Block Grant. In this role, Rachel provides oversight for programs and initiatives related to maternal and child health, including but not limited to infant mortality reduction; developmental screening and referral; pregnancy-related depression screening and referral; family, youth and community engagement; care coordination for children and youth with special health care needs, access to pediatric specialty care, and medical home promotion for children and youth. Prior to working for CDPHE, Rachel provided primary health care services in Denver as a pediatric nurse practitioner at the Stout Street Clinic of the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless. Rachel received a Bachelor of Arts from Franklin and Marshall College and a Masters in Nursing from Yale University.
