There is no such thing as a "one-size-fits-all" culturally competent solution. Meaningful cultural competency requires cultural agility - the ability to adapt solutions to local contexts, including adapting to major issues that emerge after you have already started a program or activity. This session on cultural agility will cover four topics that illustrate different facets of cultural agility: cultural humility; adaptability; shared leadership; and capacity-building. Each topic will be illustrated from programs operated by Family Voices, a family-led organization serving CYSHCN and all children and their families. Please come prepared to talk about your own multi-cultural experiences and lessons that you have learned.
