Clarence E. Anthony is CEO and Executive Director of the National League of Cities (NLC), the largest organization representing America's cities and their leaders. NLC advocates for more than 19,000 cities and towns. Appointed in 2013, Mr. Anthony is the first African American to serve in this role.
Mr. Anthony began his career in public service serving as Mayor of South Bay, Florida, for 24 years. During that time, he also served as president of both the Florida League of Cities and NLC.At NLC, Mr. Anthony is the lead advocate for city priorities in Congress and the Administration.
