Marcia Butler began her first artistic career as a professional oboist in NYC, rising to the top of her field. On a whim, she studied interior design and served clients up and down the east coast. Nine years ago, and for the very first time, her memoir, The Skin Above My Knee was published by Little, Brown to widespread critical acclaim. Enter fiction and her debut novel: Pickle’s Progress. Interviewed by Michelle Halket, Publisher - Central Avenue, Marcia will share the intersection of all these art forms: music, aesthetics, books, and film and distill them in an engaging talk designed to portray this creative imperative to librarians.
