Samantha Oakley is a program officer with the American Library Association's Public Programs Office (PPO). In her role, Samantha develops in-person and virtual professional development opportunities for libraries, manages independent evaluation of PPO initiatives and identifies potential future projects and partners. She has worked on a variety of initiatives for PPO including Libraries Transforming Communities: Models for Change; StoryCorps@ your library; Media Literacy @ Your Library; Native Voices: Native People’s Concept of Health and Illness; Latino Americans: 500 Years of History and many others. Samantha has an MA in gender studies from Minnesota State University – Mankato and a BA in English from Western Illinois University. Currently, she is in the process of getting an MLIS from the University of Wisconsin – Madison.
