In this session, participants will hear from current and past leadership of the American College of Health Care Administrators (ACHCA) on a topic of keen interest to post-acute leaders; mentoring. In addition to clarifying what mentoring is and is not, attendees will leave with a better understanding of how mentoring differs from coaching, strategies to use for assuring effectiveness in mentoring another, and some characteristics of a mentoring culture. Lastly, the ACHCA Mentoring Initiative will be discussed.

• Participants will be able to describe mentoring and it’s benefits.
• Participants will learn about the ACHCA Mentoring program.
• Participants will understand the goals of the ACHCA Mentoring Initiative.
