Care planning is a vital component of regulatory compliance as well as resident well-being. When it is done well, it provides staff with the tools needed to address areas of care effectively, but individualizing care plan objectives and interventions can prove challenging at times. This session will demonstrate how to utilize the domains of well-being in the process of care planning in the areas of potential distress and mood issues. It focuses not only on what to do in the event of a distressful experience, but also on how to prevent distress through recognizing resident needs on an emotional level.
