70th AHCA/NCAL Convention and Expo
Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) providers are facing many challenges including the implementation of the new Patient Driven Payment Model (PDPM) Medicare reimbursement system. This session will focus on sharing financial and operational benchmarking data under the new Patient Driven Payment Model (PDPM). We will tie in the financial impact to practical operational steps related to planning and budgeting to be successful under PDPM.
Understanding that health systems, referral sources, lenders and others have an interest in an organizations performance, we will share the CEO perspective on navigating an organization through all of these changes and communicating with stakeholders on these new initiatives.
These new reporting requirements and reimbursement changes will require providers to think about operations differently. Providers will be challenged to manage hospital readmissions, reduce length of stay and produce strong quality outcomes. We will share examples of how this multi-state chain provider is implementing successful strategies to redesign their processes. Specifically we will discuss which functions at the facility level have been modified and what new processes have been created due to the anticipation of PDPM. We will share how corporate office and regional roles have evolved and what changes may be expected for these positions in the future.
We will examine how providers can evaluate an in-house therapy program and whether or not it may be an objective for their organization to consider. Speakers will share some attributes of successful in-house therapy programs as well as the potential risks.
