The self care and mobility items assessed in the MDS Section GG have taken on greater importance recently, as they provide the foundation of the function scores used in the PT, OT, and nursing components of the patient driven payment model (PDPM) and several outcomes measures in the SNF Quality Reporting Program (SNF QRP). The session will cover the importance of collaboration between therapists and nursing staff in completing an interdisciplinary assessment of the self care and mobility items and review the coding instructions. It will also demonstrate how the various function scores are calculated for the PDPM and provide details about the new SNF QRP self care and mobility measures.
