The ADEA Student Diversity Leadership Program (SDLP) assists dental students in developing leadership skills so that they can better serve as leaders of inclusive excellence within their dental schools and engage fully in a culturally competent complex global society. This year's program will focus on policy, advocacy and development. The program is interactive and dental students participate in activities to further develop their leadership styles and build upon their strengths. SDLP participants will explore policy issues and strategies for furthering the dialogue in their communities around issues of inclusion and how to address the oral health care needs of underserved populations.

Learning Objectives:

• Explain how effective ethical leadership, problem-solving and mentor and sponsor relationships promote their own professional and personal growth.
• Design policy advocacy strategies to address issues related to inclusive excellence, oral health disparities and serving underresourced communities.
• Adopt techniques to promote their own self-care, work-life balance and well-being.
