Utilization of patient boxes in an application-based group setting provides a dynamic means of integration across basic sciences and with clinical skills. Students first work in small groups to formulate their own process of critical thinking pertaining to the case. Students are then guided through the expert's thought process in a structured manner of how they analyze information, apply knowledge to the patient scenario and reason through answer options. Participants will learn the concepts of designing patient boxes, how to structure the guided expert's thought process and strategize on how to incorporate this activity into their curriculum.
