In response to the opioid crisis, the University of Pittsburgh Center of Excellence in Pain Education, funded by the National Institute on Drug Abuse, is developing eight learning modules on pain management with topics from opioid misuse following wisdom teeth extraction to fibromyalgia. Five completed modules have been implemented within the university's health sciences curricula and will be distributed nationwide. This presentation provides participants with an overview of the project goals, the objectives of the case-based learning modules, development and curricular implementation. Participants will gain insight into the learning experience through the modules using the example of Acute Dental Pain.
