NSU CREATE provides free dental services to victims of human trafficking. This presentation highlights the successful collaboration between two colleges that increases awareness, recognition and trauma-informed dental treatment of trafficked victims. This program will discuss the current trends and issues in the global trafficking situation, the health risks and consequences of trafficking and the role dentists play in identifying and treating victims. The format of the presentation is lecture-based with relevant photographs, videos, victim scenarios and qualitative research findings. Participants gain an outline for replicating this collaborative model at their institutions and knowledge to recognize victims presenting to their practices.
