Technical skills are often trained in isolation, yet in reality must be executed by multidisciplinary teams. Cricothyrotomy is an important skill for dental teams who may encounter airway emergencies. This workshop will demonstrate how to execute a hands-on team-based simulation in cricothyrotomy using low-cost materials. Participants will role play as students, working in teams to build a surgical airway manikin and then complete a cricothyrotomy scenario to practice team skills. Pedagogical concepts in experiential learning and structural details of leading the workshop will be highlighted throughout to reinforce best practices in using simulation for technical and team training.
