60 Minute Seminar
Educational Programs, Workshops, Seminars, New Idea Session, and Small Group Discussions
Emotional intelligence (EI) is the ability to perceive, use, understand and manage the emotions of one's self and others. A clinical instructor's EI ability has been found to impact their clinical teaching effectiveness (CTE), i.e., instructors who exhibit negative teaching behaviors often possess low levels of EI. Participants will gain an understanding of the relationship between EI and CTE, self-assess their readiness to use EI skills in their teaching, learn how skill sets can be developed around weaknesses in EI ability and share in round table discussions regarding the application of EI in resolving difficult clinical situations.
