Dental educators have experimented with different pedagogies to help maximize student learning and receptiveness of dental innovations, including CAD/CAM technology. To overcome curricular time constraints and expand beyond basic subject introduction, one method of teaching CAD/CAM is through a flipped classroom approach. This teaching format effectively conveys fundamental didactic information through online modules and reserves class time for a collaborative teaching environment and performance assessments. This presentation will offer participants the framework and hands-on strategies for integrating a flipped classroom for digital technologies. The benefits of the program and student learning outcomes will be discussed.

• Describe the components of a flipped classroom design and how to fully engage students through active learning exercises.
• Recognize the impact of a flipped classroom on student learning outcomes and its application when teaching dental technologies.
• Design a flipped classroom program and reflect on ideas for integration and collaboration across the digital dentistry curriculum.
