Zijlstra-Shaw et al. implored dental educators to create a system to triangulate professionalism. A viable solution may be to combine daily formative assessments with summative experiences (e.g., adherence to course policies, rubric scoring at competency exercises, professionalism grades, etc.). Given this assessment schema, is professionalism indicative of other outcomes like board scores, class rank or clinical production? This presentation will explore how to combine formative and summative assessments to triangulate professionalism, evaluate whether professionalism is predictive of other outcomes and examine the impact of having professionalism quantified.
