The Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) emphasizes the importance of Cultural Competency (CC) in predoctoral dental education. While the CODA standards are well delineated, students often have independently formed definitions, perspectives and applications of the concept. As students, we wanted to know how our peers defined cultural competency. An institutional study was conducted on student perceptions of CC and how they compare to CODA's definition. This session will share those findings as well as how the students participated in Interprofessional collaboration with different faculty members to consider with how to best deliver and teach CC content.
