What are best practices that guide institutions in determining reasonable accommodations to balance academic rigor while providing support for students with disabilities? How do institutions determine what types of accommodations to implement to effectively serve patients with disabilities?
This session introduces participants to laws and legal concepts that help determine disability status and identify appropriate technical standards and obligations for providing reasonable accommodations for students and patients in a clinical setting. Using scenarios and cases, participants will use sample policies, models and best practices to discuss, identify and plan institutional policies and processes to enhance and support students and patients with disabilities.
