There are many pipeline programs that exist nationally exposing, educating and attracting underrepresented minorities to the dental profession, and therefore increasing access to dental care for underserved populations. Some programs start as early as toddler age. This educational session will provide leaders of current pipeline programs a platform to present their program aims and outcomes and relate it to how their schools are attaining diversity and equality for underrepresented minorities. The goal is to engage the members of the audience to promote best practices of attracting future underrepresented minority dentists to successfully embrace diversity and racial equality.

Learning Objectives:

Outline different pipeline programs.
Describe national trends and significant influences that play into embracing diversity, inclusion and equity.
Develop a toolkit for best practices for underrepresented student and faculty recruitment.
