Dr. Anderson, 61, was born in Houston, Texas and attended Texas A&M University earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in both Animal Science and in Biomedical Science. Following graduation he attended Harvard University and received a Master of Business Administration Degree. Dr. Anderson completed his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at Texas A&M University. Dr. Anderson served on the Board and Executive Committee of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons and was the organization’s Treasurer from 2009-2015.
Dr. Anderson resides in San Antonio, Texas where he co-founded South Texas Veterinary Specialists and other veterinary related entities. These entities were merged into BluePearl Veterinary Partners which now operates a network over 65 hospitals in twenty states. Currently, Dr. Anderson is engaged in consulting for and investing in emerging small businesses in multiple sectors. In addition, Dr. Anderson is a partner and serves on the investment committee of Verity Investment Partners, an investment management firm focused on income-oriented equity investing for families and small institutional clients.
As the Executive Chairman of CityVet, Inc., Dr. Anderson leads a network of 14 general practices that are organized as partnerships with their lead veterinarians.
Dr. Anderson currently serves as Vice Chairman of the Texas Biomedical Research Institute and Southwest National Primate Research Center. Texas Biomed is a leading independent research institute focused on Infectious Disease and related disciplines. The Institute receives over $40 million annually in NIH grant funding.
Along with Kim, his wife of 31 years, Dr. Anderson enjoys the outdoors, snow skiing, golf, fly fishing, boating and their dog Gunny.
