Curtis W. Probst received a DVM degree from the University of Georgia (Class of 1978), completed a rotating internship at the University of Saskatchewan and a surgical residency at the University of Florida. He then joined the orthopedic faculty at Michigan State University and became board certified in surgery. While at MSU, he served as department chairperson for 14 years, and also served as president of the Veterinary Orthopedic Society and the American Association of Veterinary Clinicians. He completed a non-traditional second residency in neurology and neurosurgery. This residency was a collaborative program with the University of Tennessee, Affiliated Veterinary Specialists, and Michigan State University. Dr. Probst is board certified in neurology and earned the ACVIM neurosurgical certificate. He retired from Michigan State University on 1 July 2016 and is currently the staff neurologist at the Animal Emergency & Specialty Center in Parker, Colorado.
